Cardiac Disease

Cardiac evaluation and treatment

Cardiovascular screening is very important as death from cardiovascular causes is the number 1 cause of death in the United States. A complete physical examination and comprehensive cardiovascular screening can help identify risk factors for cardiovascular disease before complications occur.
Electrocardiogram- Also known as an EKG is a risk stratification tool for chest pain. Changes in the EKG can provide valuable clues, and can help to decide if the chest pain is caused by lack of blood flow to the heart.
Exercise Stress Test- An ETT is a risk stratification tool for chest pain. Changes in the ETT can provide valuable clues, and can help to decide if the chest pain is caused by lack of blood flow to the heart
Echocardiogram- A cardiac ultrasound is a three dimensional picture of the heart used for looking at the heart structure, function and valves.
24 hour Holter Montoring- This 24 hour test can be used to help decide if the irregular heart beats are a cause for concern.
24 hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Montoring- Blood pressures in the office are only a snap shot in time. This test allows us to measure blood pressure of 24 hours to get a complete and accurate picture of what your blood perssure is doing, not only at the office, but also at your home and your office.
Cholesterol Risk Profiles- High cholesterol is a major risk factor for heart disease. In particular LDL and Lipoprotein A are markers of increased cardiovascular risk. If identified early, this risk can be mitigated by a good weight loss program and or medications.
